Age Grading & Combined Event Scoring

Age Grading is an adjustment for a performance (time, height or distance) based on age – the older you are, the bigger the adjustment. The adjustment, known as an Age Grade Factor, is multiplied by the performance to get an Age Graded Performance so all times, heights or distances for each event by athletes from 20 to over 100 years old can be compared to each other! The Age Graded Performance is the equivalent to what the athlete would have done when they were in their 20s.

Meet the Athletes

I have been competing in track and field since I was 10, and hurdling since I was 11. I competed in High School all four years and competed at the D3 level in college at UWPlatteville. At 27 I got back into regular Track and Field competitions as an open athlete, competing unattached in a few collegiate meets and several all comer and masters meets. Recently I have Taken up coaching the High School team at the school I teach at. I have completed the USATF coaching level 1 and level 2 course and am a USATF registered coach.
I love all things Track & Field.

Ryan Owen, USA - M44
