Roxanne Brockner, USA - W59

My name is Roxanne Brockner, born on December 27, 1965 in Lima - Peru, naturalized American Citizen in 1999. I grew up playing different sports including my favorite being volleyball, however, after trying track and field, it shortly became my favorite sport. I did track in HS and won several titles in the 100 and 200. Being my personal best 11.90 in the 100 meter. Left the scene at the age of 18 but continued to exercise regularly just to keep in shape. At the age of 48 decided to go back to my original talent and tried running. I read an article in the newspaper about "getting ready for your first 5K" and thought it was interesting so I tried it. I followed the instructions of the article and trained for 6 weeks consistently before I race my first 5K and did very well. I liked the experience very much and started doing a lot more, as in once a month. After a year when I turned 50 I decided to do masters track and trained for a couple of months before Nationals in March of 2016. I did very well medaling in the 400 and 200. It opened a big window of opportunities and great enthusiasm for me. I have won several titles and world championship medals ever since. My world rankings have been consistently in the top 10. Thanks World Masters Ranking for keeping us on our toes and to motivate us to excel more each time we compete. We all seek a place in the rankings. These are my accolades: National Titles for W50 Indoor 2016 Bronze in 200 and 400 Outdoor 2016 Gold in 400 Gold in 300 Silver in 200 Indoor 2017 Gold 400 Silver 200 NCCWMA Toronto Gold 100 Gold 200 Gold 400 2018 Indoor Silver 60 Silver 200 Silver 400 Outdoor 2018 Gold 100 Gold 200 Silver 400 Outdoor World Malaga Spain Silver 4 x 100 meter relay Indoor 2019 Gold 400 Silver 200 Silver 60 National Titles for W55 Outdoor 2021 Gold 100 Gold 200 Gold 400 4 x 400 meter relay World Record Indoor 2022 Silver 60 Silver 200 4 x 400 meter Relay World Record World Outdoor Tampere Finland 4th 100 meter 4th 200 meter and American Record in 200 meter for W55 with a 27.50 4th 400 meter Gold 4 x 100 meter relay Indoor 2023 Gold 60 meter Gold 200 meter Gold 400 meter Indoor World Torun, Poland Silver 200 meter Silver 400 meter American Record 4 x 200 meter relay Outdoor 2024 World Gothenburg Sweden 5th 400 meter Gold and American record 4 x 100 meter Relay I have been plagued with health issues since 2021 including several injuries but like most athletes trying to overcome them for the love of the sport.
